Frequently Asked Questions

Why Steam Car Wash?

We use high pressure moist steam at around 105psi and 150F temperature (safe for any cloth, plastic, paint or metal). Steam provides better cleaning than soap and hot water. Heat and pressure combined create a powerful cleaning solution that melts away dirt, grime, oil, tar, bird droppings, tree sap like nothing else can. With a steam nozzle, we reach to all the areas and do a throw cleaning.

Can washing a vehicle with steam vapor and microfibers scratch the surface?

If used appropriate, washing a vehicle with steam and microfibers will not create scratches. Steam vapor quickly and gently loosens caked-on dirt and grime. As steam is applied to the vehicle’s surface, an operator follows the steam trail with a microfiber towel. Dirt is transferred from the vehicle’s surface onto the microfiber towel. The microfiber towel is folded into halves to maximize the towel’s cleaning capacity. As one side of the towel becomes dirty, the operator folds the towel over to reveal a clean portion of the towel.

Will high heat damage the vehicle’s surface?

When washing a vehicle using Steam Vapor, the tip of the spray gun is held 4-6 inches away from the surface of the vehicle. At this distance the steam temperature is roughly 150~167° Fahrenheit and will not cause damage to the vehicle’s surface. Steam quickly loosens dirt. During normal washing operations, steam will only make contact with a particular surface for fractions of a second, not long enough to cause damage.

Can I clean vehicle interiors with the Optima Steamer?

The Steam Vapor machine can easily clean vinyl, leather and upholstery. Remove stains and odors from upholstery in less time and using less water than a cold water carpet extractor. Using steam, interiors are dry within seconds.

Does exterior steam car wash equipment produce a shine on the vehicle’s surface?

Steam will effectively loosen more surface contaminants faster and gentler than a high volume, cold water pressure washer. Use steam to restore the shine hidden beneath layers of microscopic contaminants. Applying only steam to a vehicle’s surface will not add any level of protection.

How long does your car wash take?

From 30 minutes up to 1.5  hours, depending on what type of service you order from us.

What is Claybar and why do I need it?

Your vehicle is under constant assault from airborne pollutants. Brake dust, industrial fallout, acid rain deposits and rail dust all can adhere to your vehicle. These contaminants often contain metal particulates, which accounts for the ease with which they penetrate the clear coat to attack the paint below. These contaminants then oxidize, and they allow rust to spread beneath the clear coat. Tiny orange spots today, total paint system failure tomorrow! Detailing clay removes these contaminants in order to keep the paint healthy and vibrant. Claybar also removes stubborn sap, tar, and bug remains.
